Booking Guide

Everything you need to plan an inquiry with Triple Twist: what we offer, where we work, how to reach us, and how a date becomes a confirmed booking. For current rates, see our pricing page.

Services

Weddings, City Hall ceremonies, events, on-location services, and destination weddings are quoted individually. Published starting rates on the pricing page are reference points, not a final quote.

We welcome clients of every ethnicity and skin tone.

Studio Location & Arrival

Triple Twist has been located in San Francisco’s historic Flood Building since 2009. The building is triangle-shaped and our studio can be reached through two entrances. These are two doors to the same lobby, not two locations.

  • 870 Market Street, #1040, San Francisco, CA 94102
  • 71 Ellis Street, Suite 1040, San Francisco, CA 94102 — recommended entrance for drop-offs, rideshare, and parking

Directions to the 71 Ellis Street entrance

Parking: the Ellis-O’Farrell Garage is directly across the street from the Ellis Street entrance.

Transit: the studio is about a two-minute walk from Powell Street BART Station and is served by many San Francisco Muni routes.

All visits are by appointment only.

Service Area & Destination Weddings

We offer three ways to work together: appointments at our San Francisco studio, on-location services where our team brings a fully equipped mobile studio to your venue, hotel, or home throughout San Francisco, Napa, Marin, Silicon Valley, and the Bay Area, and travel for destination weddings.

Destination weddings are welcome nationwide, including Hawaii, Lake Tahoe, Los Angeles, New York, and other locations throughout the United States. Our local service area is not a limit on where we travel.

Every destination or travel booking is quoted individually and depends on availability. Travel-related costs are itemized in your quote and are never assumed to be included. Robert coordinates pricing, the custom timeline, and travel details.

For a destination inquiry, please include the destination, event date, getting-ready location, the time everyone needs to be finished (local time at the event), and the number of people for each service.

How to Reach Us

Robert Thompson, our Studio Manager, is your booking contact. He handles availability, custom timelines, pricing, and the details of in-studio, on-location, and travel services. Scheduling is handled personally by our team; there is no automated availability calendar, so the absence of online appointment slots does not mean a date is unavailable. Replies are generally very fast.

Robert answers this address.

One inquiry through any channel is enough. Duplicate submissions can slow things down.

What to Include in Your Inquiry

  • Your name and email
  • Phone and preferred contact method (optional)
  • The service or event type
  • The event date, including the year
  • Where you will be getting ready (city and state, or our studio)
  • The time everyone needs to be finished, not just the ceremony time
  • How many people want hair and makeup, hair only, and makeup only, for the bride(s) and for attendants
  • Anything else about your vision

Counting services: one person receiving both hair and makeup is one person receiving two services. This matters for our peak-season minimums below.

Reference photos are welcome. Robert will let you know how to share them when he replies.

If you do not know a detail yet, send the inquiry anyway. Unknowns are normal at this stage.

From Inquiry to Confirmed Booking

  1. You submit an inquiry.
  2. Our team reviews availability, services, staffing, location, and timing.
  3. Robert responds with a personalized quote (or the published rate for makeup lessons), a proposed timeline where relevant, and next steps.
  4. Your date is reserved once a signed agreement and a 50% deposit are received.

Submitting a form or receiving an acknowledgment does not reserve a date. Scheduling or attending a bridal trial does not hold a date either. Full terms, including cancellation and changes after booking, are on our booking policies page.

Availability, Staffing & Special Requests

Dates, start times, artist assignments, and party sizes are confirmed by our team. For larger parties we schedule multiple artists as availability allows, and we determine the number of artists and the schedule.

Early-morning and short-notice requests are welcome; please submit them for review rather than assuming they are unavailable. Early-morning staffing fees may apply depending on your finish time.

Peak season (May 1 – October 31): Saturday weddings have a six-service minimum and Sunday weddings a four-service minimum. If your party is below the minimum, please still send your inquiry. When we can schedule more than one booking on the same day, the minimum may be waived.

Requests involving extensions, wigs, weaves, or specific preparation needs are reviewed by our team. Styling time is not estimated from a description or photo alone; Robert provides the service timeline for your day.

Preparing for Your Appointment

Please arrive with clean, dry hair, washed the morning of or the night before, and no makeup on. If you apply moisturizer, do so at least 30 minutes before your appointment.

We do not offer blowout-only services. If you need a blowout, please book it at a salon before your appointment.

Payment

We accept Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, credit cards by tap to pay, and cash. Checks are accepted for bookings at least one month away. Not every method is available remotely; Robert will confirm what applies to your booking.

Credit card fees: none for trial appointments; 3% for credit card payments on bookings; 3.5% for international cards.

Insurance & Venue Requirements

We carry business insurance and can provide a certificate of insurance (COI) upon request. If your venue has specific insurance requirements, please share them in advance so we can review the requirements and coordinate documentation.

Please direct venue documentation questions to Robert. Requirements vary by venue, so we review each request individually.

Follow-Ups & Changes

When following up, please reference your name, event date, and original inquiry so we can find it quickly.

Changes to services, location, timing, or artist requests after your quote require team review and confirmation. An inquiry acknowledgment is not a quote, an availability confirmation, or a booking confirmation.
