We first worked with Stephanie as a bridesmaid at another wedding a few years back, and had the great pleasure of working with this time as a bride! Things kicked off early morning at the luxurious Hotel Vitale in downtown San Francisco and it turned out to be a beautiful, clear day. Elisabeth contacted us from Beverly Hills to secure her wedding hair and makeup at Auberge du Soleil. Auberge is absolutely stunning, and with the warm October weather and it was simply golden! We all got ready in the Cedar Room – just perfect for her party of six. Thanks to Adeline and Grace Photography, who flew to California for the wedding, for these incredible photos of the day.

Karin and Leland traveled all the way from Hong Kong to have their engagement wedding photos in San Francisco for their wedding celebration next year. We were so excited to work with them, as they had such a special day lined up.

Thanks to you Yelpers who helped me make the decision to go with Triple Twist for my bridal hair and makeup! After reading the reviews and checking out their website, I was positive that I would get the look I wanted. While the services are not cheap, I found them comparable to others in SF…and their website looked the most professional ;)
My initial contact was with Robert, who is so kind and professional and was patient enough to do a back and forth with me regarding scheduling, prices, and services provided for myself, my MOH and another BM. Since I live out-of-state and would not be back until a couple days before my wedding, we had to schedule my trial for the 28th of October (my wedding was on the 30th). A little risky yes, but I was confident in the services so I paid for both the trial and the day of at the same time.
My trial with Mei was fantastic. Her studio is in the lovely James Flood building, right next to Anthropologie :) It was cute, clean, and comfortable. Mei is very meticulous with her work; she color-matched the foundation to my skin perfectly and naturally and was able to conceal my stubborn dark under-eye circles. AND she applied individual false lashes for a look that was both lush and dramatic but still appropriate for my 11:00 am wedding.
Since my hair is already pretty short, I had a simple half up “poof” in mind, with my veil tucked in the back. She did this quickly and expertly, but since my hair is short she could not hide the bobby pins in the back and suggested getting some flat white flowers like orchids to cover them up. My family was there with me so they agreed to pick up some flowers to put in my hair for the day of.
We had a very early start the day of; Mei and Robert were prompt and came to set up in my hotel suite at the Hilton Financial District a little before 6am. One of my BMs would get her hair done first, then I would get my hair and makeup done, and then my MOH would get her hair and makeup done. When it was my turn, I was totally at ease and watched the sunrise with our great view of the bay and Coit Tower. She replicated my trial look perfectly.
When it came to my hair, it turned out that my mom had purchased huge orchids that would not layer well on my hair. After some deliberation, Mei called Robert and asked him to pick up a smaller plant that would look more elegant. This is what really impressed me; they went above and beyond to make sure I looked my best. Robert came back just in time with the flowers and Mei had them in my hair perfectly in no time.
Also, Mei was still working on my MOH as i left to take pics with the hubby, but her hair and makeup was also so gorgeous; she looked like a star!
I know this was a super lengthy review but I wanted to give the services that Triple Twist provides justice. I would recommend this business to anyone in a heartbeat and am so glad I decided to go with them. Thank you Mei and Robert for being so fabulous and for making look and feel fabulous on my special day :)

Esther contacted us early on in 2010 for her late summer wedding in San Francisco. She wanted natural beauty makeup, a side swept bang, long loose curls done half up / half down. We had a blast at the trial, Mei worked with her to get the perfect look.

Like many brides these days, I considered doing my own hair and make-up to save money, especially after I found out the price point for wedding hair and make-up stylists. Then one day I stumbled across the website for Triple Twist. I was so impressed by the before and after pictures that I immediately made an appointment for a trial.
At the trial, Mei did an awesome job! I especially love the individual fake eyelashes! She is an expert at applying them and I couldn’t even feel them once they were on. They take before and after pictures and send them to you via email the same day. It is super awesome to see what the makeup will look like on camera. Also during the trial, I found out that Mei used to be a performer for Cirque de Soleil. How cool is that?
After the trial, I was so impressed that I immediately booked Triple Twist for my wedding. Just happens it was just in time because another bride was also interested in my date!
Fast-forward to the day of my wedding. Robert showed up right on time, if not a bit early to set up and Mei followed in right after. They were extremely professional. I got compliments all day on how beautiful my hair and make-up looked. It’s definitely all because of Mei!
Incidentally, I had hired another hair-stylist to work on my bridesmaids(not associated with Triple Twist at all). This person decided to NOT show up on my wedding day. When Mei found out, she graciously offered to help. She whipped up hairstyles for three of my bridesmaids AND with time to spare! Mei totally saved us that day and I couldn’t be more grateful…

Erica booked us for on-location hair and makeup at the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley, California for her wedding at the Brazilian Room.
For hair, Erica loved the idea of having her hair down with a sweeping, understated braid to accentuate her half up, half down hair style. She also wanted lots of volume for the top and back of her hair. Mei created a natural look for her makeup, using a soft pink Chanel waterproof lipstick, and accentuated Erica’s beautiful eyes with long, individually placed lashes. After viewing the post trial photos, she loved the way they looked we were ready to go!
Stephen Hughes was a blast to work with, and took these great photos of Erica and Mike’s big day, thank you Stephen!

April booked us for her makeup and hair nearly a year in advance for her July 4th weekend wedding at the Palace Hotel. This proved to be a wise decision on her part, as we had over 100 inquiries for her date from when she booked us. After attending her bridal trial in late 2009, she added eight more people for hair and makeup.
And as always, it was a pleasure to work with one of San Francisco’s best wedding photographers, Jessie Cho. Thank you Jessie, these are amazing!

We met Julie early this year at her bridal trial for her wedding at Bear Flag Farm, just a few miles from the UC Davis Campus in Winters, CA.
Julie originally wanted a soft natural look, and after previewing our bridal trial photos, she decided to go with slightly bolder features. After taking detailed notes, on the day of the wedding we confirmed the changes and were set to work with her and her party. This photo is from her trial at our studio in San Francisco:

We recently had the pleasure of working with Angela and Jay for their wedding at the Berkeley Rose Garden, located in the beautiful Berkeley hills next to the UC Berkeley Campus.
Angela was looking for a timeless, natural look for her makeup, and chose individually placed eyelashes for her eyes. Mei and Angela worked closely to come up with a unique style for the back of her updo, shown below:

In late 2009, we collaborated with international wedding photographer Henry Chen at Lulu and Ken’s wedding at the Shakespeare Garden in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. Henry is in high demand — when he is not shooting for the NBA, he is shooting weddings and special events all over the globe. Jennifer scheduled her bridal trial, excited to go over ideas for hair and makeup for her upcoming wedding at St. Ignatius Church in San Francisco.
At our studio, we discussed Jennifer’s goals, the wedding theme and colors, and went over a few looks that she brought in.
We did makeup first, using our ultra-lightweight MUD foundations. For her lips, I chose Chanel Rouge Double Intensite in Rose Pearl. To create more refined, dramatic look, we used Shu Umuera individually placed eyelashes to really accentuate her eyes. I then created a bridal hairstyle that matched Jennifer’s personality: a sleek, elaborate updo that lasted all day.

We worked with Pam late last year for her tea ceremony and wedding hair and makeup in San Francisco. As we set up our on-location kit at her home for her Chinese tea ceremony and started the services, we shared laughs and stories with her mother and family.

As Mei was finalizing Pam’s hair design, David Ham (seriously one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s best wedding photographers), arrived with his crew and equipment and got right to work.
